Scarlet Rose Productions ~ A Brief History

Scarlet Rose Productions, the brainchild of Francisco Manuel Rosa - President and Editor-in-Chief, began in 1995 with the introduction of Variations On The Theme, a quarterly black & white comic which explored everyday life and the effects on people around us. Francisco Rosa and SRP Line Editor Mike Aragona published 4 issues of the critically-acclaimed series. In late 1997, Scarlet Rose Productions changed its line, moving its Mature Reader title to Adults Only and expanding that line with other titles - the first being The Girls of Embassy.

For Those Who Feel They've Outgrown Comics we happily proclaimed when our first book was launched. We wanted to present stories about people and events that happened in everyday life. Our target audience were those who felt comic books had nothing new to offer and those who didn't know anything beyond superheroes existed. Although we met with a lot of positive reviews, our sales required us to try something even more different. To that end, after 4 issues of Variations on the Theme, we moved our entire line to Adults Only. The move proved successful and we released 6 books in this format until finances forced us to take a breather. Although no new books were released in a number of years, material was still prepared and remains in our archives awaiting the right moment for us to resume full-time operations again.
